Are we ever truly satisfied with our home décor?

With constant trends, seasonal updates and our own personal tastes evolving over time, it's not too surprising to hear that the houseproud homeowners among us are quite keen to spruce up their abode.

It turns out we decorate our living room every 25 months on average, our bedroom every 29 months and our hallway every 45 months, according to new research by Furniture123.co.uk.

In the survey, a quarter of Brits admit that their home is in a constant state of redecoration, but why exactly? One in four redecorate regularly to keep up with interiors trends, whilst 19 per cent simply do so for enjoyment.

These are the rooms we decorate the most on average:

  1. Lounge/living room – every 25 months
  2. Bedroom – every 29 months
  3. Bathroom – every 33 months
  4. Dining room – every 37 months
  5. Hallways – every 45 months

'It's understandable that Britons choose to decorate the rooms in their home so regularly,' said Mark Kelly, marketing manager at Furniture123.co.uk. 'While interiors trends are ever changing, a simple redecoration of a room can make a person fall in love with their home all over again.

'That said, this desired effect can be achieved by changing accessories or buying new furniture and doesn't always have to include a full redecoration job.'
