Changing the future in Agritech & advanced manufacturing

Advocating social and environmental responsibility, achieving sustainability

Combining innovation and vision – Identifying solutions for tomorrow’s problems – Today!

Green Build Systems Limited (GBS) is a unique blending of Research and Development facilities, creating innovative and practical vertical farm solutions, inclusive of GBS modular vertical farms, controlled environment agricultural product solutions and the development of innovative modular building eco panels.

With our partners and JV colleagues support, we can combine renewable energy (solar, wind, and thermal), and battery storage back-up systems, with efficient vertical and urban farming methods.

By fusing the use of solar energy farms, we can help customers provide food, medicinal produce, and specialist produce, along with electricity and thermal energy.

Through the design and construction of agritech systems, we assist with the provision of global food security and food accessibility issues, as well as the promotion of plant-based health support initiatives.

We actively engage in research and the development of specialist vertical farms for specific requirements in conjunction with partners in plant science, technology, and supply-chains.

We also engage with strategic partners in the design and build of sustainable modular buildings to support our interests in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and in farming solutions – this may be achieved via timber-framed methods (using responsibly harvested sustainable forestry timbers), or by utilising our own GBS Eco SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels).

More futuristically, a champion of vertical farming, Dr Dickson Despommier PhD is advocating for a focused switch of resources in urban environments:

“If cities produced just ten percent of the ground crops they currently consume, by employing sustainable indoor vertical farms and greenhouses to do so, then nearly half of the damaged portion of the Brazilian rainforest could theoretically be restored (340,000 square miles worth) and a significant amount of carbon would be sequestered as the result.”

A BESPOKE APPROACH TO AGRITECH

GBS Modular Vertical Farms – A Vertical agritech solution

Our innovative and bespoke development of “GBS Modular Vertical Farms” will serve as our contribution towards helping create an improved and more sustainable environment for all, both now and in the future.

Sustainable agricultural practice is important and plays an active role in not only helping combat depleting resources such as food, and contributing to the betterment of health and well-being, but is also integral towards addressing important environmental and humanitarian concerns.

FARM SALES – R&D ALWAYS SEEKING A WAY FORWARD

With so much interest being shown in our Agritech / Modular Vertical Farm structures and fully equipped GBS Modular Vertical Farms, our Research and Development team has expanded its horizons to allow us to begin the nurturing of our own unique efficient growing systems, lighting systems, ventilation, software and even growing towers that enable us to achieve maximum yields for fresh produce with the lowest environmental impact.

To meet with potential sales requirements, we are committing Research and Development time and expertise into specific farms for specific purposes or markets.

Healthcare and wellbeing have become such an important issue that we are researching areas as follows: -

  • Salt water vertical Farms to produce Sea Kelp / Samphire for medicinal purposes.
  • Low Potassium Greens (Clean vegetables) for kidney patients.
  • Biofortified vegetables (Superfoods) with calcium deficiency patients and lactose intolerance.
  • Plant-based pet foods.
  • Specific medicinal herbs and plants for the complementary and alternative medical markets.
  • High value produce, such as saffron and vanilla pod production.

Alongside our strategic partners and advisors, we are also injecting our shared experience to further develop vertical and urban farming techniques both in hydroponic and aeroponic spheres, as well as continuing to develop renewable energy systems. We are both exploring and helping to develop hybrid systems specifically for vertical and urban farms as well as utilising battery back-up and energy storage systems.

A BESPOKE APPROACH TO SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION

Our Research and Development project remains committed to the development of the GBS Eco-Panels.

Whilst we continue to explore and develop practical and cost-effective full format construction composite panels capable of supporting full Passivhaus rated efficient buildings, we recognised that we had the capability of producing smaller scale eco panels. These could enable GBS to construct modular buildings and we have noted suitable applications – particularly within the Agritech and Vertical Farming spaces.

Our research has further demonstrated that, not only are we required to utilise our GBS Eco-Panel system when location temperatures or dramatic fluctuations dictate the need, but that we could also manufacture our bespoke modular buildings using sustainable timbers.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ALWAYS SEEKING A WAY FORWARD

The GBS team continue to explore and develop our vision of producing, in-house, the GBS full format eco panel. This is being designed to complement full Passivhaus and negative carbon status for many building types.

We have patents pending in this area and continue to monitor such progress. This and the development of our advanced robotically controlled manufacturing processes are still progressing, and we retain a clear vision of the enormous financial potential when coupled with the undoubted environmental benefits when construction is made to be so much faster, flexible and fully sustainable.

With so much interest being shown in our Agritech / Modular Vertical Farm structures and fully equipped GBS Modular Vertical Farms, our Research and Development team has expanded its horizons in order to allow us to begin the nurturing of our own unique efficient growing systems, lighting systems, ventilation, software and even growing towers that enable us to achieve maximum yields for fresh produce with the lowest environmental impact.
