Story

My name is Robert Powney, and I am in my 80's and I am swimming the full 22 miles to raise awareness and money to support the Young Carers of the South Lakes. I will be doing this at the Low Wood Resort and Spa.

I am extremely passionate about this amazing charity and it broke my heart to know and see children from 5 years old were caring for their families. If I can help by giving them a chance to be a child, have some quality time with their loved ones without having to do the tasks we all take for granted as an adult or simply giving them some time for themselves. It could happen to anyone of us whether it is our children or whether we are caring for our loved ones and this charity helps and supports those in need and these are all the reasons that is driving me to put on my speedos and swim, swim, swim...

Thank you so much for helping and supporting.

Robert
