Core activities
We represent more than 200,000 veterinarians through our 114 member associations and advance the health and welfare of companion animals through building an educated and collaborative global community of veterinary peers. Our core activities include:
Global Guidelines
The creation of regionally-relevant Global Guidelines which set best practice standards in particular aspects of veterinary care
Continuing Education
The provision of continuing education (CE) and other educational resources for our members, particularly those in regions in which companion animal veterinary care is still emerging
Raising Awareness
Helping to raise awareness of the importance of companion animals in the One Health movements
Engage with WSAVA
World Small Animal Veterinary Association
WSAVA's primary purpose is to advance the quality and availability of small animal medicine and surgery, creating a unified standard of care for the benefit of animals and humankind. As “Global Veterinary Community” is our tagline, being a part of WSAVA also creates a space in which we can help each other and to generate a “One global voice” from the veterinary profession to contribute to the world.
Educational Partners
We are delighted to collaborate with a range of global Educational Partners. These respected publications and associations help us to provide CE and other learning resources to our members around the world, either at a reduced cost and, in many cases, free of charge. We thank them for their support of the global veterinary profession.
Industry Partners
Our work would simply not be possible without the support and generosity of our industry partners. Their enthusiasm and unstinting commitment underpins the running of our Clinical Committees and enables us to create resources such as our Global Guidelines, stage CE sessions around the world, host an outstanding global companion animal congress and carry out other activities to support our global veterinary community.
