The Youth Advisory Commission is a student-led program, emphasizing the empowerment of students to be leaders in their community. With the guidance of the City of Temple, students participate in various learning opportunities that teach them about local government and prepare them for life. YAC possesses of the Core Values of Empowerment, Engagement, Youth Voice, Leadership Development, & Community Service. All decisions made on behalf of the Commission and its students coincide with our Mission Statement and Core Values.

Requirements
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Live within Bell County limits.
- Be enrolled in 6th-12th grade (Public, Private, or Home School associations).
- Complete the application form.
Commissioners are expected to:
- Commit to advocating for youth and their opportunities.
- Fulfill a minimum 1-year term commitment (August 1, 2023 - July 31, 2024)
- Attend required Commission meetings and a mandatory event with the Texas Municipal League Annual YAC Summit.
- Actively participate in monthly YAC activities, events, and programs.
- Communicate with other Commission members and city liaisons appropriately and in a timely manner.
