Communities healing from police violence

The Chicago Torture Justice Center was born out of reparations for survivors of police torture.

Survivors and their families fought for decades for access to the trauma-informed resources and politicized healing support that the Center now offers. Today, with hundreds of survivors still incarcerated and the persistence of racialized police violence, that fight continues.

Trauma-informed support

We offer clinical healing services, reentry support, and case management to meet survivors where they are, and work in community to organize for new systems.

If you have been impacted by police violence and are in need of support, please email us at info@chicagotorturejustice.org  or call (773) 966-6666 and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

A new approach

We recognize that our healing is political and our politics can be healing. We call our framework politicized healing, and it informs everything we do.
