The 2024 edition of the AIPH World Green City Awards is offered in seven categories, with three finalists in each category from which one category winner is selected, and with one Grand Winner chosen from the seven category winners. A special Youth Jury will also select from the finalists one winner to receive the Youth Award. Following the first stage of assessment by the Technical Panel, 21 Finalists have been selected and presented to the Jury.

The prestigious Awards ceremony for the AIPH World Green City Awards 2024 will take the form of a dedicated gala dinner, set to be hosted on 25th September 2024 at the Royal Jaarbeurs in the heart of the City of Utrecht, Netherlands. The momentous occasion forms an integrated part of the official program of the first Future Green City World Congress, which is set to be held from 23rd – 26th September 2024 with over 3000 experts from around the world expected to attend and share their passion and knowledge for shaping greener cities of the future.

Award entries will be assessed on the basis of six evaluation criteria.

Cities register a profile on the entry submission portal and complete the online entry form, in English, which consists of a series of questions in line with the judging criteria and may be complemented by supporting evidence such as images, videos, publications (e.g. copy of a report), letters of support (e.g. from partners).
