Aaron Smalley is a member of the 2023 graduating class at Indiana Connections Academy. He’s also an accomplished cross-country and track athlete with exciting plans for the future.

Student Spotlight: Aaron Smalley
Aaron is a graduating senior and appreciates how our school has helped him with time management and scheduling. He particularly thanks Mr. Emerson, his economics teacher, for his support and motivation in helping him achieve his goals.
Earlier this year, Aaron ran a 2-mile high school race at the University of Indianapolis. His goal was to come in under 10 minutes. His time was 10:30. According to Aaron, “My training did pay off.”
Aaron is a member of our school’s Running Club and Creative Writing Club. He also enjoys history, social studies, math (he’s good with numbers), watching car races (such as the Indy 500), and playing the guitar. His passions include writing and music.
What’s next for Aaron? He’ll attend Indiana State University, where he will study recreational therapy before pursuing his doctorate in physical therapy. Aaron plans to join the school’s cross-country and track team and hopefully qualify for the Olympics.
