Clipper Round the World Yacht Race: Discovery Talk & Yacht Tour - Seattle

CALLING ALL ADVENTURERS!

The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is in Seattle and on the lookout for adventurous sailors, yet no previous sailing experience is required. Have you got what it takes?

This event is for those eager to test their limits beyond belief and find out how they can take part in the next race edition. Come and hear about it from Crew Recruitment Director and previous Clipper Race circumnavigator, Della Parsons.

You will find out more about the selection process, training, the race, the fleet, stopovers, personal logistics and most importantly the Race Crew. You'll either walk away inspired or scared. One thing you won't be is bored.

Afterwards, you'll have a chance to explore a Clipper 70 and hear what life onboard an ocean racing yacht is really like. The current Clipper Race Crew will no doubt also share some stories fresh from their race across the mighty North Pacific.

Schedule

1645 - Open for arrivals

1700 - Presentation begins

1730 - Question and answer session

1800 - Finish presentation

1810 - *Optional Guided tour on board a Clipper 70 (if not already done!)

1900 - End

*Please Note: Due to high demand to attend the presentation, and light hours available, we may not have time to get everyone through a boat tour after the presentation. In order to avoid disappointment and if possible, why not take the opportunity to get a tour of a Clipper 70 Ocean racing yacht before hand? We will have a Clipper 70 yacht open for tours from 10am on Mon 29 April - Wed 1st May so come down to Bell Harbor Marina and climb on board!

FAQs

What should I bring to the event?

A yearning for adventure! You might like to visit the Clipper Race website or YouTube channel beforehand.

Flat, soft soled shoes if intending to tour a Clipper 70 yacht after the presentation.

Can I park nearby?

Yes there will be parking available at the Bell Street Parking garage opposite the Port of Seattle HQ. You can get your parking ticket validated in the Port of Seattle HQ building when you attend the presentation.
