KUCHING - Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah is looking forward to working closely with the relevant Federal ministers to develop more road connectivity in Sarawak.

He said the ministers are Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, and Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Uggah, who is also the state Minister of Infrastructure and Ports Development, hopes to discuss with Ahmad Zahid ways to get more funds channelled to Sarawak for that purpose.

"We also have some proposals on how to speed up the implementation of our rural projects and we believe that we need to brief Ahmad Zahid on the various issues we face in implementing them,” he said in a statement after conducting his monthly monitoring of road and bridge construction projects in the Kuching and Samarahan Divisions, here, today.

Uggah said that he had previously discussed such issues with the former Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
