Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steve Squeri joined Jim Cramer on CNBC’s “Mad Money” to reinforce key themes presented at the company’s 2024 Investor Day, including the company’s confidence in its long-term aspiration. “The most important thing you’ve got to learn is to listen to your customers,” said Squeri. “Our customers are the most valuable asset we have, in addition to our colleagues. By listening to them and anticipating their needs and using new technologies to determine how you market to those customers, that’s really helped us.” Watch the interview here: https://lnkd.in/eqGhCBzR

May kicks off Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in the US and Asian Heritage Month in Canada. These moments are a great time to build awareness of and honor the rich cultural tapestry, experiences, and accomplishments of Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Canadians of Asian heritage. On #TeamAmex, we’re committed to supporting our Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Canadian Asian heritage colleagues, customers, and communities. Some of the ways we’re doing this include: - As part of our DE&I Action Plan, we set a goal to double our annual spend with underrepresented-owned suppliers in the U.S. In 2022, the most recent year we reported results, we spent $758 million with underrepresented-owned suppliers, including $164 million with Asian-owned suppliers in the U.S. - In 2023, we have provided financial support through the American Express Foundation to further the operations of The Asian American Foundation and Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. - Our Asian Network at American Express (ANA) hosted 50+ programs and events for colleagues in 2023, including ones centered around supporting colleagues' career development, celebrating the diversity of our culture, and strengthening our connections and community. I’m proud of the work we continue to drive to ensure our colleagues, customers and the communities we serve have the opportunities and resources to thrive. Together, let’s keep learning, celebrating and advocating for an inclusive future.

While this is a year-round focus for us, Earth Month is a key moment to highlight our efforts through initiatives like our Green2Gether program, sustainability solutions and long-standing support for small businesses,” said Madge Thomas (nee Mukund), President of the American Express Foundation and Head of Corporate Sustainability.
