Over 20 members of the Blue Chip team volunteered at the Oak Park warehouse of Forgotten Harvest this past Friday! We had a great time packing bags of dark chocolate caramels, breaking down boxes, and helping clean the warehouse. Across the two shifts, we helped to bag over 7,400 pounds of chocolate for inclusion in food boxes for families in need. We also recently made a $1,000 donation to Forgotten Harvest's Orchard of Hope effort, which provides roughly 50,000 pounds of fresh apples each fall to feed the community. “Contributing to the community is something many of our team members do outside of work. To foster a positive workplace culture for our team, we wanted to step up our efforts as a firm to continue to support this passion to help serve others,” said Chief Operating Officer, Erin Goss, CFA, CAIA, CIMA®, CFS®. Based on a survey conducted earlier this year related to community themes employees would be most interested in supporting, the theme “access to food” rose to the top of the list. Forgotten Harvest is a large, reputable nonprofit organization in the Metro Detroit area whose mission supports this theme. “This won’t be the last time you see Blue Chip Partners out in the community as a united front,” said Founder and CEO, Robert Steinberg, JD, CPA, CFP®.
