70th anniversary glass bottom boat

In 1953, the first Commercial Glass Bottom Boat “Fireball” was put into operation at 0 Duval Street, and to this present day, where Fury’s Glass Bottom Boat “Pride of Key West” departs. For 70 years, a fleet of iconic Glass Bottom Boats from the “Fireball” to the “Pride of Key West” have long been a staple of the Conch Republic transporting people to explore North America’s Living Coral Reef to marvel at the underwater residents of paradise.

Don’t miss an unforgettable event celebrating the 70th Anniversary Key West’s second oldest attraction! Just as Mayor Dennis Wardlow proclaimed before Fury’s “Pride of Key West” maiden voyage on March 11th, 1994, the legendary Glass Bottom Boats that have departed from the end of Duval Street over the years have celebrated all native and honorary Conchs for generations. Our lively celebration will do the same as the memorable festivities will include complimentary food, drinks, live music, a unique display of historical artifacts, and even a few surprise guests!

Join us to celebrate the 70th Anniversary and History of Key West’s Glass Bottom Boats!
