This publication reflects ISA-UK’s commitment to developing and promoting clear, robust, and implementable best practice and guidance within the Sign and Graphics industry in the UK.
Best practices are important for processes that you need to work correctly. They are simply the best way
to do things and are found to be the most sensible way to proceed and to help you avoid falling foul of regulations and legislation. Using these guides will demonstrate to your clients and customers, as well as your staff, suppliers and contractors, that you are acting in good faith and in a manner that is professional and competent. This guidance covers requirements for the design, project management,
manufacture, installation, inspection and maintenance of signs excluding luminaries, road traffic, fire, safety, track-side railway or air-side airport signs. It is not designed to replace the current British Standard and Specification for the design and construction of signs for publicity, decorative and general purposes (BS559) but more to run alongside that document and support its values.
